If your project requires a permit from the state of Michigan, we can and highly suggest, that you allow us to perform the filing.

• Filling out the permit can be a challenge as many of the questions cannot be answered until you/we understand all the components that the project will involve, such as type of sediment to be removed, how much will be removed and the size of the area.
• There are other essential components of a project such as, where the sediment will be either openly discharged or contained. Will the sediment and water need to be tested, etc.

How the permit questions are answered is also critical as to how our restoration service will be interpreted by the state. When our service is properly described it can reduce the amount of time it will take for the permit to be issued.

A site visit and pond or lake evaluation

Whether your project requires a permit or not, allowing us to perform a site visit and pond/lake evaluation is needed so that we can provide you with a proposal based on the actual findings such as the amount (cubic yards) of material to be removed, its depth, density, type, if there are submersed aquatic weeds to be removed and how to best handle the discharge water and sediment.

• Once we have performed a site visit and pond/lake evaluation, we will have the basic information that is needed to answer many of the questions in the permit application if one is needed.
• Of course, you can apply for the permit yourself, however you will also need the information gained by the site visit and pond/lake evaluation prior to filing for the permit.
• We do charge a fee for the permit filing once we have performed the visit and evaluation. Most application fees start at $350 and will increase depending on the scope and size of the project.
